I know from first hand experience that contemplating a home based business may be a bit puzzling. It may even be a bit scary! But I am here to tell you this, it is not scary at all. In fact it is down right the most fullfilling and exciting thing I have ever down for myself. After many years of association with my primary business, it was easy for me to make such a decision. That was based not only on reputation, but the companies continued growth and expansion into a world wide business was key to my decision. I knew that this company was not going anywhere but up, with its skyrocketing growth backed by over 52 years of proven success already.

One of the biggest problems that I encounter with folks who contact me about wanting to join my online business team is their lack of focus. They have a need and that is usually needing to make residual income, they have a desire and that is desiring to be in control of their livelihood and they almost always have false dreams that someone or something will make them instantly rich. The most important thing that they are most often missing, is their WHY? I began to search for someone who had knowledge about online business, who had success using the Internet,who had training using the Internet and who could mentor me and teach me to do the same with my own business. And show me how to earn residual income so that I could feel that my financial future was finally on the right track.

In the next 2 minutes you will discover something that seems to be one of those "business models" people either love or hate. What I am talking about is network marketing, also called mlm, multi-level, and social marketing. Making a living by earning residual income. In fact many distributors won't admit "their" company is one of "those" companies, gosh sometimes even the companies themselves are in denial. Right from the beginning I will say that there is no need to have extreme views about this, it is simply a business model you can use if you wish.

But pay attention to this--- it is crucial that you understand HOW the business model of network marketing works.

First, I believe that there are basically two reasons that some people seem to be almost electrocuted, simply by hearing someone mention the word network marketing. Perhaps they have tried it themselves, and because they didn't have a clue on how to do it they failed miserably. Or they belong to the group of people who can't get the idea that mlm = pyramid scheme out of their heads.

This second misconception is easy to debunk. Pyramid schemes are illegal almost everywhere, do you really think large multinational companies could operate year after year on an entirely illegal basis?

Secondly, this view on network marketing shows to me a person just doesn't understand. He or she hasn't done an ounce of homework on the various businesses that are available to each of us today, and they are ignorant of the industry itself.You have to do you homework! Would you purchase a business without researching its background?

This means they aren't serious. It means they "would like" to make more money, but have no intention of making it happen. They continually "look" for home businesses, which is enough to satisfy their minds that they "did everything they could", but everything they find out there is flawed and are "scams". They are looking to buy "hope", not a business.

There is an old saying that goes something like this:"If you spend too much time procrastinating about your next step, you will be standing on one leg for the rest of your life". Absolutley, there ARE scams out there, but mlm is not a dirty word and it is not a synonym for scam. Get over it!
